Do you use your downtime to scroll(stalk)Pinterest?

Have you considered shiplap, a barn door, a live edge table, a cactus, brass, edison bulbs, blush, chevron, mason jars, burlap, and subway tile in all the same room?  Or are familiar with everything I have listed and giggled to yourself that you do know what I am getting to..

If the answer is yes to any of this – OR – if this is your desk:

Or is this your bed?

you have OBSESSIVE PINTEREST DISORDER.    There is a cure.  Don’t panic.

I get it.  And there is no judgement here.  You are in a safe place.  I am exposed to different kinds of design elements daily – the struggle is real.  I have clients wanting modern, bohemian, mountain chic, warm eco (its a thing)etc.  Everything.  I find beauty and style in just about all types of Interior Design.

Except this.

I just could not embrace the mosiac tile phase of the early 2000’s.  No offense if this is like your kitchen.

Since we are bombarded with all these images of cute ways to do this and that – we sometimes forget the home we actually live in.

Exhibit A.  I know you, whoever you are, love the barn door thing but this does not work with your traditional windows and basically everything else in your room.

Sorry.  Feel the comforting glance, and warm hand on yours?

And I know you saw that mixing flooring is cool, and a shiplap island on wheels is awesome, and retro fridges are back, and a hanging chair is so chic.  But all together?  At the same time?  Really?  If you love it – great.  For me, sensory overload.

We are smiling together.  We are bonding.  Do you feel it?

And I know you REALLY REALLY like shiplap and the different colored cabinets…. but it has to work.  Ok?

Now we have a shared giggle.  We are cool with this knowledge together.

I could go on and on.  And I am guilty of this OPD as well.  I have gone down the rabbit hole searching for the perfect image of what I want and two hours later my husband is asking me when I am coming to bed.

BUT – I do know where to stop with the design madness for my clients.

If you are wanting a change or update and you are unsure of what to do with your vast Pinterest knowledge/obsession, we can help you.  You can like EVERYTHING – it’s all good.  We just help you when it is time to draw the line.  Move away from the mouse.  Stop the madness.

We get it.  We are in this together.

Take the first step to healing and contact us today.  You can learn to live with OPD.

xoxo
